1.2 Ordinal numbers
VOCABULARY: first, second, third etc. including high numbers.
STRUCTURES: I'm the first in my class.
FUNCTION: Using ordinal numbers.
1.3 The date
VOCABULARY: first, second, third etc. up to thirty-first.
STRUCTURES: What's the date today? It's the (tenth) of October. When's your birthday? It's on the (15th) of May.
FUNCTION: Asking for dates (of birthdays, holidays, national festivals etc.) and giving information which includes dates

2.1 Book genres
VOCABULARY: colouring books, scary books, fantasy books, science fiction books, history books, adventure books, sports books, romance books, cooking books, detective books, wildlife books, comics.
STRUCTURES: Does (he) like reading (sports books)? Yes, he does. / No, he doesn't.
FUNCTION: Talking about habits and hobbies.
2.2 Jobs
VOCABULARY: explorere, vet, chef, police officer, football player, artist, doctor, teacher, librarian, computer scientist.
STRUCTURES: What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be (a police officer).
FUNCTION: Talking about future jobs.
Unit Three
3.1 Places in town
VOCABULARY: restaurant, park, technology store, cinema, supermarket, clothes shop, museum, theatre, baker's, bookshop, library, toy shop, swimming pool, station, pet shop.
STRUCTURES: Where can I have dinner? At a restaurant. Where can I buy a toy? In the toyshop.
FUNCTION: Identifying places in the town.
3.2 Prepositions of place
VOCABULARY: opposite, next to, near, between, in front of
STRUCTURES: Where's (the theatre)? The theatre (is) (next to the bank).
FUNCTION: Talking about where places are in the town.
3.3 Directions
VOCABULARY: turn right, turn left, go straight on, cross the road
STRUCTURES: Where's (the library)? Turn (right) and it's on your (left). How can I get to (the bookshop)? Turn left into Church Street, cross the road and it's there - next to the cinema.
FUNCTION: Asking for and giving simple directions.

4.1 Sea animals
VOCABULARY: whale, shark, moray eel, dolphin, turtle, jellyfish, octopus, manta ray, seahorse, starfish, seaweed, crab.
STRUCTURES: This / that is (a seahorse). These / those are (starfish).
FUNCTION: Naming sea creatures.
4.2 Adjectives for making comparisons
VOCABULARY: long, longer, the longest etc., big, small, dangerous, intelligent, poisonous, ferocious, playful.
STRUCTURES: Sharks are (dangerous / more dangerous / the most dangerous). The (moray eel) is (long / longer / the longest).
FUNCTION: Classifying and comparing.
Unit Five
5.1 Food quantifiers
VOCABULARY: a bar of chocolate, a carton of orange juice, a jar of jam, a packet of biscuits, a bottle of water, a bowl of rice, a piece of cheese, a loaf of bread, a glass of milk, a cup of tea, a slice of cake, a can of cola.
STRUCTURES: Would you like ( a slice of bread)? Yes, please. No, thanks.
FUNCTION: Making, accepting and refusing offers (of food and drink items).
5.2 Money
VOCABULARY: penny, pence, pound(s).
STRUCTURES: How much is it, please? It's (one pound fifty), please. How much are they, please? They're (two pounds ten).
FUNCTION: Asking for and stating prices.

6.1 Means of transport
VOCABULARY: hang glider, plane, rocket, car, foot, train, motorbike, lorry, motorboat, hot-air balloon, horse, bike.
STRUCTURES: I like travelling by (train).
FUNCTION: Talking about transport.
6.2 Prepositions of means
VOCABULARY: by, on.
STRUCTURES: He's going (by motorbike). She's going (on foot).
FUNCTION: Saying how you move around town.
6.3 Countries and nationalities
VOCABULARY: England - English, Italy - Italian, France - French etc. Great Britain, the UK, Europe, South America etc.
STRUCTURES: Where are you from? I'm from (the UK). What nationality are you? I'm (British).
FUNCTION: Asking for and giving information about nationality.
