Unit One

1.1 Family

VOCABULARY: father, mother, grandmother, cousin, uncle, brother, sister, grandfather, aunt, me.
STRUCTURES: He is my (grandfather). His name is (Gordon). She is my (grandmother). Her name is (Sally).
FUNCTION: Using possessive adjectives.
FUNCTION: Identifying family members.
FUNCTION: Asking for the identity or family relationship e.g. Is Peter Kim's (uncle)? Is she Ann's (aunt)?

1.2 Numbers 20-100

VOCABULARY: twenty-one, twenty-two etc. up to one hundred.
STRUCTURES: How old are you? I'm (ten).How old is (she)? (She)'s (fifteen).
FUNCTION: Asking for someone's age and giving own age and the ages of friends (using third person singular).

Unit Two

2.1 Household objects

VOCABULARY: wardrobe, bookshelf, bed, picture, sofa, armchair, fridge, cooker, table, shower, mirror, bath.
STRUCTURES: There is/isn't a (fridge) in the (kitchen). Is there a (picture) in the (living room)? Yes, there is. / No, there isn't.
FUNCTION: Identifying household items and furniture.

2.2 Actions

VOCABULARY: have lunch, cook, read a book, use a tablet, sleep, watch TV, play football, have a bath.
STRUCTURES: ***
FUNCTION: Asking and answering about activities.

Unit Three

3.1 Food and drink

VOCABULARY: soup, tomatoes, bread, water, rice, sausages, strawberries, chocolate, cherries, milkshake.
STRUCTURES: I like/don't like (rice). (He) likes/doesn't (bread). Do you like (rice)? Yes, I do. / No, I don't. Does (she) like milkshake? Yes, (she) does. / No, (she) doesn't. FUNCTION: Identifying food items.

3.2 Meals

VOCABULARY: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Unit Four

4.1 Free-time activities

4.2 Adverbs

VOCABULARY: very well, well, at all.
STRUCTURES: I can swim very well. He can't dance (at all).
FUNCTION: Talking about ability.

Unit Five

5.1 Clothes

VOCABULARY: T-shirt, dress, shorts, shirt, jacket, shoes, trainers, jumper, skirt, trousers.
STRUCTURES: I'm/I'm not wering (jeans). He's/He isn't wearing (jeans). Are you wearing (a jumper)? Yes, I am. / No, I'm not. Is (he) wearing (a jumper)? Yes, he is. / No, he isn't.
FUNCTION: Asking and answering about clothes.

5.2 Adjectives

VOCABULARY: big, small, new, old, clean, dirty, long, short.
